Downtown Boise Redevelopment Projects (23 projects), Boise, Idaho (2002 - 2013) QCI has worked with private developers and the Capital City Development Corporation to provide site design, utility design, project management, and construction coordination services for a number of redevelopment projects in downtown Boise, ID. Specific projects include street and site related improvements at the intersection of 9th & Front Streets (Statehouse Inn), Main Street between 9th & 10th (Sonna Building), a parking lot at 25th Street & Fairview Avenue, Idaho Street between 6th & Capitol (Old Spaghetti Factory), the intersection of 8th Street & Myrtle (8th Street Marketplace), the intersection of 14th Street & Idaho (Watercooler Building), and the intersection of 14th Street and Main (Linen Block).
Idaho State Capitol Preservation, Restoration and Rehabilitation (2007 - 2009) QCI provided surveying services to Jacobsen Hunt for interior facilities improvement for the Idaho State Capitol project. Surveying tasks included providing interior horizontal and vertical control for layout of new rooms, stairwells and elevator shafts in the original building and the new wings.
Boise City West Branch Public Library (2008) QCI served as the project engineer for the site design for the LEED certified (certification pending construction) West Branch Public Library for the City of Boise. In this role, QCI worked with the project architect and landscape architect to develop an environmentally responsible site layout and storm drain system.
Urban Renewal Boundary Descriptions and Surveys-Downtown Boise, Idaho (2002 - 2006) QCI has prepared the River-Myrtle Urban Renewal Project boundary description and several follow-up additions for the Capitol City Development Corporation (CCDC). QCI met with CCDC personnel to understand the proposed boundaries of each new district, and performed the necessary research to accurately describe the project boundary. QCI provided the written descriptions and detailed drawings of the boundaries. QCI has also provided several property boundary surveys, and written descriptions for right-of-way takes and vacations in downtown Boise for CCDC.
Boise City Canal Reconstruction, Boise, Idaho (2004 - 2005) QCI worked with Boise City Canal Company personnel to develop a project scope, obtain project funding, coordinate with public agencies (Boise City, the Ada County Highway District, and the Capital City Development Corporation), and complete civil design drawings to reconstruct or slip line over 900 linear feet of main line canal with a design capacity of approximately 50 cubic feet per second. The slip line portion of this project was located beneath the Basque Block in downtown Boise, The design of this section was conceived to allow the reconstruction of the canal without disturbing the existing street improvements or disrupt access to the adjacent businesses.
Basque Cultural Block, Boise, Idaho (2000) QCI provided site civil and storm drainage design, project management, and construction inspection services to reconstruct Grove Street from Capitol Blvd. to 6th Street in downtown Boise, Idaho. The project was a joint venture between private property owners and various public agencies, and was conceived to celebrate the Basque culture and the influence that the Basque people have had on the State of Idaho.
Lindsey Lateral Reconstruction, Boise, Idaho (2004 - Present) QCI has worked with the board members and water users of the Lindsey Lateral Water Users Association to complete a conceptual design and cost estimate to replace an approximately 23,000 linear foot gravity lateral system in urban Boise, Idaho with a pressurized irrigation system. The Association recently gave authorization to QCI to complete preliminary and final designs for the project.
Meridian Crossroads Shopping Center, Meridian, Idaho (1999 - 2003) QCI served as the project engineer for the approximately 55-acre Meridian Crossroads Shopping Center located at the intersection of Fairview Avenue and Eagle Road in Meridian, Idaho. QCI personnel worked with the City of Meridian and the project owner to obtain project entitlements, and completed all aspects of the site design, including significant extension of public utilities. QCI also designed the adjacent public street improvements that were a part of the project including Fairview Avenue, Eagle Road, Records Avenue, Presidential Drive, and Pine Street.
MelloDee Thornton Mobile Home Park, Boise, Idaho (1999 - 2000) QCI served as the principal design firm and provided project management services for a 65-unit mobile home park in Boise, Idaho. This project was a joint venture between a private development corporation, Boise City, and Neighborhood Housing Services, Inc., a non-profit low-income housing provider.
Front Street Condominiums, Boise, Idaho (2003 - 2004) QCI worked with the Capital City Development Corporation, private developers, Architects, the Greater Boise Auditorium District, and a number of regulatory agencies to provide coordinated civil site design of storm drainage, utility, and street improvements for a multistory parking garage/retail building project adjacent to the Front Street and 9th Street intersection in downtown Boise. QCI also prepared a multitude of legal descriptions for land exchanges and easements, and completed a condominium plat for the project.
